Some pointed-out images may disappear

Applicable Versions

Lightning Review 1.8 and later

Phenomenon

After capturing pointed-out images, saving the review file, and closing it,
when the review file is reopened, some pointed-out images may disappear.

Conditions for Occurrence

The above phenomenon occurs very rarely.
Lightning Review's image capture function utilizes a function built into Windows.
Currently, we have confirmed that the probability of occurrence is slightly higher than usual when using Lightning Review in the following ways and under the following conditions:

  • Insufficient HDD space on the server or PC storing the review file.
  • Insufficient HDD space on the PC opening the review file.
  • Performing the following operations with the review file in shared mode.
  • Multiple users are frequently saving files.
  • While multiple users are editing, the shared mode is frequently switched ON/OFF.

Workarounds

Please use Lightning Review with the following points in mind:

  • Ensure there is sufficient free space on the server or PC's HDD where the review file is stored.
  • Regularly back up your review file.
  • When using a review file in shared mode and multiple users are editing it, do not frequently switch the shared setting ON/OFF.
  • If you experience images disappearing, the contents of that review file may be corrupted. In that case, do not continue using the file; restore it using the backup file and edit it again.
How to reduce the probability of the problem occurring

Turning off the automatic deletion of temporary folders in Windows settings may reduce the likelihood of this problem occurring.
